Dr Carlo Di Maio, an Orthopaedic Surgeon from Germany who has been using Shockwave since 2002 alongside an integrated approach involving manual medicine, injection therapies and rehabilitation.
His experience and ‘number of patients treated’ is likely unsurpassed, as his enthusiasm and gift for explaining complex issues in a digestible way. This podcast has something for everyone in the practical examples outlined by Carlo.
Dr. Carlo Di Maio is a Medical Specialist in Orthopaedics with additional qualifications in sports medicine, physical therapy, manual therapy, acupuncture and Osteopathy. He studied medicine in Essen and became a practicing Physician – Trauma Surgery in Mülheim an der Ruhr.
Switching to Orthopaedics in 1998 with further training in manual and sports medicine. In 1999 Takes position as Senior Physician, Head of a department for diseases of the spinal column. Began using Focused Shockwave in 2002. From May 2011 Head of continuing education courses in use of shock wave treatment of myofascial conditions. 2014-2015 co-development of the fascial shockwave system Peri-Actor and the atlas applicator in 2018. Co-Author of “Fascia Treatment with Shockwaves”
