Mr Dale Halford is a Consultant Podiatric Surgeon specialising in surgery of the foot. He has a special interest in bunion surgery and joint replacements in the forefoot, and lesser toe straightening.
Dale is available to perform initial consultations as well as pre and post operative assessments at the Abbeyfields clinic although most surgical procedures will need to be performed at either Ipswich or Stowmarket.
He is also able to perform joint injections for arthritic conditions and soft tissue injections for such problems as Morton’s neuroma, as well as nail surgery and excision of minor skin lesions under local anaesthesia.
We can also provide shockwave therapy for the treatment of plantar fasciitis and achilles tendonopathy.
Ingrown Toenail Treatment in Suffolk
A curved toenail that grows into the skin, an ingrown toenail can physically pierce the skin, causing redness, swelling and pain.
A common condition, especially in teenagers and young adults, ingrown toenails may become infected causing increased levels of pain. An infection can also cause further complications, particularly to people with poor immune systems or diabetes.

Deformed Toes Treatment in Suffolk
- There are a number of deformities that affect the lesser toes (the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and little toe). These include hammer, claw and mallet. Progressive in nature, deformed toes can never be repaired without surgical intervention, but can be managed if treated early.Non-surgical treatments can include changes in footwear and padding to prevent rubbing; while surgery can be completed in under 30 minutes (although the patient will be in surgery for longer), it can take up to eight weeks to recover from if the toes need to have wires inserted.

About Mr Dale Halford DPodMed, FCPodS – Consultant Podiatric Surgeon
Having qualified from Durham School of Podiatry in 1986, Dale went on to work in the NHS for two years, before establishing two successful private practices in Halifax and Ilkley. In 2001, he embarked on a Fellowship in Podiatric Surgery at University Hospital Lewisham, which he was awarded in 2004. Dale then completed his surgical training in Doncaster as a Podiatric Surgical Registrar. Having received his Certificate of Completion of Podiatric Surgical Training, Dale accepted his first consultant post in Durham in 2007, before transferring to Hartlepool a year later.
Since 2010, Dale has been working in Suffolk where he was appointed Consultant Podiatric Surgeon and Clinical Lead at the Suffolk Foot Surgery Centre, part of Ipswich Hospital Trust.

We do, however, advise patients to thoroughly check their insurance cover, prior to consultation.In most cases you will be provided with an authorisation code for your consultation / treatment / surgery. Fees for self pay patients are based on the published fee scales of BUPA/AXA PPP.

Wanted to give a huge shout out to Joe for the amazing job he did relieving my chronic lower back pain.
