Complete injections specialise in ultrasound guided injections and provide excellent patient centered care across London, Kent and Cambridgeshire, and now Suffolk. We pride ourselves on providing patients with fast, safe and effective pain relief at affordable prices.
Successful treatment is inherently linked with an accurate diagnosis, and this lies at the heart of all Complete Injections treatments. A Complete assessment combines physical testing with diagnostic ultrasound imaging. When we have made a diagnosis you will be presented with the most appropriate evidence-based treatment options available. If an injection is required it can be administered within the same appointment. After your appointment a post injection clinical letter will be emailed to you explaining your diagnosis , procedure and aftercare.
Our clinical specialist, Luke Millward, is leading our new Bury St Edmunds service. Luke is a fully qualified physiotherapist and musculoskeletal sonographer with over 15 years of clinical experience in treating musculoskeletal conditions. Luke is also an experienced injection therapist and an independent prescriber. He is therefore able to prescribe the most appropriate medication for you and perform an injection all within one appointment, without you needing a referral from your doctor.
Luke says;
‘I am excited to be working with James and the team at Abbeyfields clinic. Opening up this new injection service in Bury St Edmunds will give the very best evidence-based treatments to the local community. I have family and friends living in the local area and know, first hand, that there are no affordable ultrasound guided injection options available in either Suffolk or Norfolk’.
‘I believe I can provide the local community with a convenient, safe and effective pain relief service’.
‘Providing people with the right diagnosis and helping them gain access to the correct treatment is very rewarding. It’s what gets me out of bed in the morning!’

Patients often come with many questions surrounding ultrasound guided injection. Luke answers the most commonly encountered questions here.
‘You should consider an injection if you continue to be in pain even if you have been undertaking active treatments such as physiotherapy or osteopathy. You should also consider an injection if you cannot work or complete hobbies, are having trouble getting to sleep or waking at night because of your pain’.
‘During an ultrasound guided injection a diagnostic ultrasound machine is used to locate the site of the of the injury and monitor the progression of a needle to deliver a dose of medication directly to the heart of the problem’.
Being able to provide a highly accurate injection means that the best possible results can be achieved and any delicate tissues such as nerve and blood vessels can be avoided’.
‘It can be very confusing choosing the right injection for you. Choosing the right option is dependent on your diagnosis. Once you have been properly diagnosed an informed discussion can be had, allowing you to make the right choice for you and your situation’.
‘At Complete we offer three types of injections. Each one is designed to do a different job’.
‘A steroid injection is a potent anti-inflammatory medication which reduces pain. It provides fast, effective pain relief’.
‘A hyaluronic acid injection is used predominantly for osteoarthritic joints. It acts like an oil, protecting a joint by providing shock absorption and lubrication’.
Will an ultrasound guided injection completely cure me?
‘No injection should be seen as a ‘stand-alone’ treatment option. After an injection it is vitally important that you undertake a short period of rehabilitation, under the direction of your physio or osteopath. Without addressing the underlying cause of your pain may result in your symptoms coming back’.
‘Most people only need one injection, however conditions such as osteoarthritis and frozen shoulder often need more than one. Complete injections work closely with the team at Abbeyfields to provide world class treatments. We can guide you through your rehabilitation journey from start to finish, all under one roof’
‘Ultrasound guided injections are the gold standard injection option of treating joints, bursae (fluid filled washers), nerves and tendons’.
Conditions affecting the foot and ankle, knee, hip, wrist and hand, elbow and shoulder can all be effectively treated. For see a comprehensive list of injuries that can be treated with an injection can be seen here (please follow this link’).
‘Complete injections do not perform spinal injections. Spinal injections need to be completed by an orthopaedic consultant in a theatre’.
