The Abbeyfields Clinic provide a range of treatments to clients through a mixture of specialist practitioners contracted to the business, including Osteopaths, Physiotherapists, Podiatrists and Sports Therapists. The broad mix enables treatments to be combined and tailored to maximise the benefit to you the client.
Our most recent carbon footprint assessment covering emissions of natural gas and electricity used on the first floor for 2017/2018 has been calculated to be 2.1 tonnes of CO2e/year.
We will aim to reduce this over the next 2 years by implementing the actions outlined in our Energy Report and Environmental Action Plan.
Several actions have already been undertaken in order to minimise the on-going environmental impact of our business activities. These include:
- Installation of dimmable LED lighting throughout the site.
- Space heating provided by energy efficient air source heat pumps.
- Patient notes all recorded online, reducing paper consumption.
- New starter induction training, including details of end of session shut down procedure.
- Energy efficient equipment used to minimise daily base load.
- Onsite washing coordinated to maximise each load and minimise water waste.
- Main business expense is consumables and careful control over levels ordered to minimise waste.
Through the implementation of this environmental policy and the associated environmental action plan, we hope to continually reduce our environmental impact. To achieve this we aim to:
- Comply with all relevant regulatory requirements and environmental legislation.
- Measure and monitor our environmental performance.
- Continue to identify ways in which we can reduce the amount of energy we consume and our wider environmental impact.
